This new Microsoft team’s purpose is to automate the steps in Microsoft KB articles and Windows Error Reporting (WER) solutions so you can click a button and have the issue resolved.

Ein wirklich guter Blogeintrag findet sich zu diesem Thema auf dem Blog von Elan Shudnow.

Wichtig war für mich die grundsätzliche Aussage:

By default, Client to Server Authentication is encrypted using TLS via this Client Receive Connector. TLS is advertised and when using POP3/IMAP4, basic authentication, credentials will only be available after initiating a TLS encrypted connection

Jedoch sollte man sich wirklich den gesamten Artikel zu Gemüte führen…

meine Feiertage stehen nicht in meinem Outlook 2007, obwohl diese doch bis 2012 enthalten sein sollten. Wie bekomme ich die deutschen Feiertage hinzu? Diese Lösung funktioniert, wobei die Feiertage dann als “Frei” (Frei/Gebucht Info) markiert sind.

1. in Outlook unter Extras/Optionen den Reiter “Einstellungen” auswählen

2. Kalenderoptionen auswählen und Feiertage hinzufügen (Land selbst auswählen), Import bestätigen

3. Jetzt sollten die deutschen Feiertage im Kalender eingetragen sein.

Also, Bill Gates hat Xobni als “die nächste Generation von Social Networks” bezeichnet (laut newsweek). Hierzu findet sich mittlerweile eine öffentliche Beta.

bei Xing gibt es die Funktion alle Kontakte in eine vCard Datei exportieren zu lassen. Nach dem Import erscheint nur der 1. Kontakt aus der Datei in Outlook 2007. Nach ein bißchen “googlei” hab ich dann eine Lösung gefunden:

1) Open Windows Contacts

2) Click Import

3) Select vCard (VCF file)

4) Select all the contacts to import, then click Open.

5) Switch to Outlook.

6) Choose File, then Import and Export.

7) Choose “Import Internet Mail and Addresses”, then click OK

Select Outlook Express…or Windows Mail. Uncheck Import Mail.

9) Click Next.

10) Decide how you want to handle duplicates, then click Finish
